INTRODUCING RITUALS
There are many beautiful rituals we can including in our ceremonies, each bringing its own unique blessings to all involved. Here are just a few examples.
Handfasting
Handfasting is an ancient symbolic ritual that binds two individuals together, often used in wedding ceremonies. It involves tying the couple's hands with a cord or ribbon, representing their commitment and unity. This ancient tradition signifies the joining of lives, offering a meaningful way to celebrate love and partnership.
Sand Blending
Sand blending is a ceremonial ritual symbolising a union. During the ceremony, each person pours coloured sand into a single container, creating a beautiful, layered effect. This act represents the merging of their lives and families, showcasing the uniqueness of each individual while forming a united unity.
Tree Planting
Planting the "Marriage Tree" is a physical manifestation that symbolises the growth of a marriage relationship. Together the bride and groom can see the grow just as their love grows, nurturing it every day in order to keep both the tree and the marriage alive. This ritual works equally well in an adoption ceremony or when welcoming a new member of the family.
Blessing Stones
The blessing stones ritual involves each guest selecting a stone to hold during a ceremony, then offering their wishes, hopes, or blessings for the couple. Afterward, the couple keeps the stones as a tangible reminder of the love and support surrounding them, symbolizing the community's commitment to their journey together.
